I wanted an outlet to continue researching what I started to see as a debilitating blindspot in our collective consciousness &#8212; economic history &#8212; and to connect it to everyday life, to the tectonic changes in our immediate surrounds to which we all so eagerly seek to put words. I intend the Markets Project to be both a personal archive, consisting of standalone essays on topics I find worth exploring at any given moment, and a space for more granular and long-running analyses of class and capital. (You can read about the significance behind my choice of <em>markets<\/em> and <em>project<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/marketsproject.com\/?p=1\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1\">here<\/a>). Thus, you&#8217;ll find a wide range of posts &#8212; book reviews, longer research-driven pieces, reactions to current events &#8212; on what will hopefully be a cohesive body of topics revolving around American political economy. And, since the city is my vantage point, Philadelphia&#8217;s situation within it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\" style=\"text-transform:none\">Of course, I want this site to be more than just a personal pastime or a place to vent about politics. I plan to build something big with what I accomplish here, even if what, where and how is unclear to me now.
